Book Buzz: Midnight Manor by Sid Sharp

Sid Sharp, photo credit the author“I’m drawn to mischief and mystery, the sense of something strange and eerie going on. I sort of wish that I could make children’s books as genuinely frightening and funny as R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps, but I can’t be serious enough to make something deeply terrifying. I go for that, and silliness naturally comes out in the process.”

Moon Cat by Casi Cole

A unique bedtime story for the space explorer and the feline-lover. This is a story about a little girl being told a story about the Moon Cat. She gets to join Moon Cat as it moves through the night and space, sharing so much of the quiet glittering world with her. The illustrations took my breath away. This is not one I’ll be forgetting soon.

Good Knight, Mustache Baby by Bridget Heos, Joy Ang (Illus.)

I love Mustache Baby! This series is my favorite to gift to new parents, because the stories are hilarious for adults, while kids adore Billy (aka Mustache Baby) — because what is funnier than a baby with a mustache? I loved that this adventure added a pink unicorn to Billy and Javier’s crew.
